Leaside Church & Community Centre, Ware

Refurbishment of the Hall

For many years the maintenance of the Hall particularly the heating costs had been a major drain on church finances.  The refurbishment will bring the whole building up to present day standards.  It involved insulating all external walls, roofs, and floors, the installation of a new heating system and the upgrade of the electrical installation in order to reduce future maintenance costs to a minimum. The internal layout has been reconfigured ensuring greater security for Leaside Kindergarten and providing extra public meeting rooms for groups of less than 10 to over 100.

The New Reception Area

A glazed covered link between the Church and Hall creates for the first time a single building to be known as Leaside Church &Community Centre.  This is the main entrance foyer for the both Church and Hall and offers wheelchair access to all areas.  In addition, new accessible toilets have been added. The completed work has a new tea and coffee point for refreshments as well as a reinforcement of the gallery to provide an additional 50 seats (a total of 150 for concerts and other meetings).

The work was completed in spring of 2018.  Further information, including drawings and the vision for the scheme, can be found on - www.leasidechurch.org.uk/future_plans.html
