"Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going, how can we know the way?' Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him'". (v.5-7)

"The Lord went in front of them in a pillar of cloud by day, to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of cloud by night, to give them light, so that they might travel by day and by night. I will raise up shepherds over them who will shepherd them, and they shall not fear any longer, or be dismayed, nor shall any be missing, says the Lord... I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as King..." (v. 1,4,5)
