Can a woman forget her nursing-child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. (vs. 15-16)

The Lord God has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning he wakens — wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught. (v. 4)

Look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for he was but one when I called him, but I blessed him and made him many. (Vs. 1b-2)

Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to cross over? (v. 10)

For thus says the Lord: You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.

'This child is destined for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be opposed so that the inner thoughts of many will be revealed — and a sword will pierce your own soul too' (vs. 34-35)

Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem (vs. 1-2)

To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him? (v. 18)

He will not cry or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench. (v. 3)

I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. (v. 25)

You are my witnesses! Is there any god besides me? There is no other rock; I know not one. (v.8)

I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe; I the Lord do all these things. (vs. 6-7)
