They were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. (v. 22)

'For I also am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, "Go," and he goes, and to another, "Come," and he comes, and to my slave, "Do this," and the slave does it.' (v. 8)

Fear seized all of them; and they glorified God, saying, 'A great prophet has risen among us!' and 'God has looked favourably on his people!' (v. 16)

And he answered them, 'Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them.' (v. 22)

Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: 'What did you go out into the wilderness to look at? A reed shaken by the wind?'

'For my eyes have seen your salvation...' (v. 30)

'The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, "Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!"' (v. 34)

Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.' (vs 14-15)

Then Jesus said to them, 'I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?' (v. 9)

Now during those days he went out to the mountain to pray; and he spent the night in prayer to God. (v. 12)

'Do to others as you would have them do to you.' (v. 31)
