'The Times' Preacher of the Year serves Methodist church
The minister of Trinity Methodist Church and United Reformed Church in Sutton, Rev Martin Camroux, has become The Times Preacher of the Year.
Martin, 54, was ordained a URC minister in 1975 having trained at Mansfield College. His first church was Freemantle, Southampton, between1975-1999 and since then he has served Trinity Church, Sutton, Surrey, in the London South West Methodist District.
He won the £1,500 first prize at the final of the annual competition organised by The Timesnewspaper and held yesterday at the Regent Hall, Oxford Street, London. His sermon, which saw off four other Christian and Jewish finalists, was on the theme of tolerance for others
