Gibraltar Methodist Church Welcomes New Superintendent Minister

The Gibraltar Methodist Church has formally welcomed its new Superintendent Minister, the Reverend David Barrett, during a special service held at the King’s Chapel. Members of the congregation were joined by religious leaders, community representatives, His Excellency the Governor, and the Commander of the British Forces to mark this significant moment in the life of the church.
The service was led by the the Revd Conrad Hicks, former minister stationed in Gibraltar and now Chair of the South East District, which includes Gibraltar. In his address, the Revd Hicks reaffirmed the Methodist Church’s long-standing commitment to serving as a beacon of compassion, faith, and service within the local community.

The Reverend Barrett expressed his enthusiasm for beginning his ministry on the Rock, paying tribute to those who have faithfully sustained the church’s mission in recent years. He offered heartfelt thanks for the guidance and support he has received throughout the transition and spoke of his hope for the church’s continued growth and service.
The Revd Barrett said: “I am delighted to be in Gibraltar. It’s a privilege to be appointed to serve in this place and I look forward in faith to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead”.
The appointment of the Revd Barrett marks an important new chapter for the Gibraltar Methodist Church, which moves forward with renewed purpose under his leadership.
