The work of the Methodist Liaison Office in Jerusalem has been recognised with a plaque acknowledging their support for the Hope School in Bethlehem. The plaque was presented by the Director of the school, Mr Saba, and the Mayor of Beit Jala.

The inscription on the plaque reads ‘In sincere appreciation of your outstanding support to Hope School. Your generosity, dedication and commitment have greatly contributed to the growth and success of our students and school community’.
David Hardman, Methodist Liaison Officer, Jerusalem, commented, “As you enter Hope School, a sign reads ‘God is Love’, a message that is lived out daily by the staff and governors alike, welcoming pupils, parents and visitors into a community shaped by compassion and care.

“The Methodist Liaison Office is honoured to support this vital work through visits, fundraising and sharing the school’s story. We are deeply grateful for this recognition and look forward to strengthening our partnership in the years ahead.”
Often known as a ‘second chance’ school, Hope School ensures that children from Beit Jala, a district of Bethlehem, can access education regardless of past experiences, family circumstances or the challenges of living under occupation.
The Hopes School was established as a community-led response to the growing need for inclusive education and care for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Bethlehem area. The school creates a safe, supportive environment where children who were often marginalised can access specialised education, therapy. Hope School plays a vital role in promoting dignity, independence and social participation.
The Methodist Liaison Office, Jerusalem is a partnership of the World Methodist Council, the Methodist Church of Britain and the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church. Its purpose is to increase awareness and involvement of the worldwide Methodist community in the issues of Palestine and Israel and to work with those who wish to establish and maintain human rights under international law, and who advocate and inhabit a non-violent approach.
