There are a number of events and opportunities for chaplains to connect to one another – at the moment these are all offered online. Chaplains can share their experiences, offer mutual support and pray together. Anyone involved in chaplaincy is welcome to be part of these, whether you are lay or ordained, work full- or part-time, paid or unpaid, Methodist or not. You may not even have the official title ‘chaplain’ but find yourself in a role that involves elements of chaplaincy. You are welcome to share in these.

Many of these events are offered in collaboration with other organisations or different parts of the Methodist connexion. Even though some of the events are hosted by particular regions or localities, they are offered for the whole connexion and open to chaplains across the UK. To keep up to date with upcoming events, please subscribe to our newsletter.

Connexional Gathering for Chaplains

This UK-wide event is open to anyone involved in chaplaincy. Together we connect with God, connect with the chaplaincy issues, and connect with each other. At these events, there is an opportunity to pray together, hear from some chaplains about a particular topic in chaplaincy, and then share together with others involved in chaplaincy.

  • Connecting with God
There'll be some time for devotions.
  • Connecting with the issues
We'll connect with an issue that's relevant.
  • Connecting with each other
A good amount of our time together will be in small breakout rooms where you will have an opportunity to connect with other chaplains and reflect on the theme of the event.

Take Time for Chaplains

Weekly Zoom hosted by Ministries: Vocations and Worship Team and Clive McKie from Take Time

Based on the Revised Common Lectionary Gospel reading, these guided meditations are inspired by Ignatian Spirituality and Mindfulness.

Each meditation takes you to a different episode from a gospel. It allows you to picture yourself there and gives you space to engage with Jesus. The meditation will last less than 15 minutes, and finish at 1.00pm. For those who wish to stay on to 1.30pm, there will be a guided opportunity, to share and listen to the experiences of others.

Each Monday at 12.45pm – 1.00pm or 1.30pm (Starting 12th April 2021)
