The Amazon Hospital Boat

- Seeds are planted, trees grow, they blossom and in their time bear fruit! -

These were the words shared by Bishop Fabio Cosme on his visit to Methodist Church House to meet with Sandra Lopez,  Partnership Coordinator for the Americas'.

Bishop Fabio Cosme, made his visit with Pastor Kyung Lee and Pastor Max Maia. (Pictured right).  Together they lead the work in the Amazonian Ecclesiastical Mission Region of the Methodist Church in Brazil, which made his opening words so very appropriate, reflecting the life and growth of the amazon region.

They shared with those gathered the work of the Hospital Boat, a ministry of the Methodist Church in Brazil. Each year this boat serves up to 10,000 persons along the communities on the banks with medical and dental help, education and evangelism.

The Amazon is a protected region because of its wonderful diversity and indigenous people and their culture are also rightly protected under the laws in Brazil.  Pastor Max Maia reflected on the sensitive sharing of the gospel, across cultures and without imposition: Sharing comes through service.  We serve the communities, sharing God's love in our actions, building relationships and trust.  It's is then that the questions come - Why do you do this?  Then we are able to share that is is through Jesus transformational love.
