Share A Gift of Christmas and Celebrate the Nativity Story Together
The Methodist Church has recently published A Gift of
Christmas. The latest edition of the popular booklet contains Bible
passages, excerpts from Christmas hymns and other quotations. The
booklet, priced at £5 for 50 from Methodist Publishing, enables
individuals and communities to celebrate and reflect on the story
of Christmas together.
The Revd Ruth Gee, President of the Methodist Conference, said: "A
Gift of Christmas gives churches and individuals the opportunity to
share the joy, hope and challenge of the birth of Jesus. For many,
Christmas is a time for celebration and sharing. For others, it is
a difficult time or simply a festival that takes place during
winter. In A Gift of Christmas, everyone can read and reflect on
the story of the birth of the saviour. Hymns from
Singing the Faith and beautiful illustrations add
to the impact. Why not include A Gift of Christmas with your cards
or distribute it in church and community events?"
A Gift of Christmas is an ideal gift that can offer friends,
family, colleagues and others the opportunity to learn more about
the story of Christmas. As in previous years, the new edition
celebrates the birth of Jesus with Bible passages describing the
details of the nativity, verses from Singing the Faith and
thought-provoking illustrations to encourage reflection.
A Gift of Christmas can be purchased from Norwich Books and Music
(0845 017 8220) at the price of £5 for 50 copies (plus postage and
packaging). The Church has also made A Gift of Christmas available
as a free ebook in order to enable greater ease of sharing. The
ebook edition will soon be available in the epub format. There is
also
PowerPoint presentation that can be used in
churches or small-groups and reflected upon together.
