Charlotte Taylor, Head of Service for MAST, the Methodist Academies and Schools Trust, accompanied by her partner, Richard Smith, was invited to attend the first ever Education Garden Party held at Buckingham Palace on the 14 May to celebrate and recognise those working in education. Barbara Easton, former Head of Service, was also invited to this prestigious event hosted by the King and Queen.
The Education Garden Party was supported by the Department for Education and brought together approximately 7,000 representatives from across education.
"We made the most of our time, walking by the lake and enjoying the delectable sandwiches whilst listening to the brass bands and buzz of chatter," says Charlotte.
"It was an honour and a privilege to represent our wonderful Methodist state schools and reflect on the rich contribution they make to our education system. Staying true to the intentions of John Wesley, our schools are beacons of light, oozing our Methodist ethos and shining brightly in their communities. MAST works tirelessly to ensure all of our 66 schools flourish so that every child can thrive educationally and spiritually and live their life to the full."
