Norwich Books and Music to distribute Methodist publications

The Methodist Church is pleased to announce that it has reachedagreement with Norwich Books and Music for the provision ofdistribution services for Methodist Publishing resources. Thisfollows the difficult decision taken earlier this year to closedown the Peterborough office of Methodist Publishing after a reviewconfirmed that it was no longer a cost-effective operation. TheMethodist Church remains grateful to the staff at Peterborough fortheir years of dedicated and loyal service.

Norwich Books and Music, a division of Hymns Ancient & ModernLtd, is the country's foremost provider of specialist distributionservices to Christian publishers and Churches. Based in modernpremises in Norwich, the company distributes publications for theChurch of England, the Church of Scotland, Canterbury Press, theRoyal School of Church Music and a number of Christian publishers.During the review process, Norwich Books and Music emerged asclearly the best fit for the requirements of MethodistPublishing.

Methodist Publishing will continue to publish resources for theMethodist Church, managed by the Publishing and Fundraising teamwithin the Mission and Advocacy cluster of the Connexional Team atMethodist Church House. Publications will include all the resourcesrequired by the annual Conference as well as new materials tosupport the Discipleship and Ministries Learning Network as itworks to build a discipleship movement shaped for mission andfulfil the aims of Our Calling.

The transfer of responsibilities is planned to take effect from 15November 2013.
