Connected: a new audio series from the Digital Transformation Programme
We are launching Connected, a new audio series about the Digital Transformation Programme.
Hosted by Ben Hollebon, Director of Digital and Transformation, each episode shares what we are learning as we listen to churches, circuits and districts across the Connexion -- and what we are building as a result.
Episode 1: More Time for What Matters
In the first episode, Ben introduces the programme and asks a simple question: what if the administrative side of church life could be simpler?
He shares what is already working well - from Zoom Bible studies to the Christmas campaign resources to Singing the Faith Plus - and honestly acknowledges what is not: fragmented systems, duplicated effort, and too much of people's time spent on things that could be easier.
Drawing on the first comprehensive digital audit of every Methodist church across the Connexion, the episode sets out the scale of the opportunity and the programme's vision: freeing up more time for mission and ministry.
Who is this for?
Connected is for anyone who wants to understand what the programme is doing and why it matters. Whether you are a minister, a steward, a treasurer, a safeguarding officer or a volunteer - and whether you are comfortable with technology or not - this series is for you.
What to expect
New episodes will be published roughly every fortnight, covering what we are hearing from the listening exercise, how the programme is developing, and conversations with people from across the Church. Future episodes will include guests from districts and circuits sharing their perspective on what needs to change and what is already working.
Get involved
If you would like to feed into the programme's work, there are several ways to get involved:
- Stakeholder Reference Group -- help shape what we build.
- Champions Network -- stay informed and share updates in your circuit or district.
