Description: The St Philip’s Centre exists to help people to learn how to live well together. We facilitate intra- and inter-faith encounters to enable the development of mutual understanding and trust that leads to cooperation on areas of social concern, working together for the good of all. The overall aim of the role is to equip Christians for confident engagement with people of other faiths through structured opportunities for encounter, dialogue and joint action, that is, for different types of missional engagement (understanding mission in its broadest sense). These will form the foundations on which understanding and trust can be built equipping people to work together for the good of all.

Description: We would like to create a mosaic for the outside of the building in line with the new initiative "Art of Welcome" introduced by the Methodist Church

Placement dates: 27/07/2026 – 30/09/2026.

Placement duration/ time commitment: 36 hours in total – approx.. 4 hours per week.

Supporting a young artist to design and paint mural, gain experience, build portfolio, and networks.

Project Name: The Ark Gedling

Methodist district: Nottingham and Derby district

Description: We are looking for a creative individual to volunteer to paint a mural within our advice centre. This placement will enable a young adult to gain real life experience of designing and painting a wall mural for a client to be used as part of their work experience and portfolio as well as working with the general public. We also hope to link the individual into the Nottingham art festival scene to expand their network, find them more opportunities and promote their work.

Placement dates: Negotiable

Placement duration/ time commitment: Approx 1 week to complete mural.

Description: Supporting a weeklong Christian holiday programme, helping children and young people grow in faith through worship, teaching, activities, and relationships, while serving as part of a team and modelling Christian life.

Placement dates: 31st July – 8th August (applications closed for 2026)

Placement duration/ time commitment: 9 Days including travel to and from Ireland.
