Faith-Rooted Community Organising 2-day course

Are you interested in how Faith-Rooted Community Organising could help your church to build relationships with the community, develop new leaders, grow as a congregation, or establish a new Christian community?

The next residential Faith-Rooted Community Organising Course is running at Yarnfield Park on 30th October – 1st November, and there are still opportunities to join. The 2-day course is free to attend, including meals. The course is interactive, with worship, learning and community building, and participants have the chance to leave with a certificate in Community Organising. You can join as a small group from a church or circuit, with the chance to learn, explore and plan together.

In this course, we will explore what’s distinctive about faith-rooted community organising, and how it is grounded in who we are as a people of Christian faith; rooted and centred in God, in our practices of prayer and worship, and in the way we live out and share our faith.

By the end of this course, you will:

• Better understand the Faith-Rooted Community Organising process.
• Understand the importance of listening in building relationships.
• Better understand power and power dynamics.
• Have explored moving from listening to action.
• Have considered your own next steps in Faith-Rooted Community Organising.
