Information for Ministers retiring in 2026
Ministers in Full Connexion and in an appointment within the control of the Church at the time of retirement can apply to the Fund for the Support of Presbyters and Deacons for a grant to reimburse removal expenses. In addition, a taxable relocation grant is also available.
We are no longer able to process the relocation grant through the pension payroll (as was our previous practice) and therefore to ensure it is correctly taxed it will now be paid with the final stipend payment in August. Consequently, the application form should be submitted no later than 5 July to ensure the relocation grant can be processed in time.
The application form to apply for the removal and relocation grants can be found via Ministerial Grants - The Methodist Church and this should be sent to the Ministerial Grants team together with three removal quotes.
