We hope you find our 'Word in Time' Bible studies support you in recognising God in Scripture, and the world around you.
Each week’s studies are written by volunteers across the Connexion (you can read the author’s biography after each study). They follow the lectionary of the Methodist Prayer Handbook. You may additionally be interested in our Prayer of the Day, also from the Methodist Prayer Handbook.

This week's theme: Expectancy and Hope
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (v. 3)
“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot." (v. 13)
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill." (v. 17)
“You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You shall not murder’; and ‘whoever murders shall be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you..." (vs 21-22)
"But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (v. 28)
