This week's theme: Returning to the Lord
God also spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the Lord." (v. 2)
You shall say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a snake.’” (v. 9)
"The fish in the river shall die, the river itself shall stink, and the Egyptians shall be unable to drink water from the Nile." (v. 18)
"This day shall be a day of remembrance for you. You shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord." (12:14a)
Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his officials and all the Egyptians; and there was a loud cry in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead. (v. 30)
The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt and he pursued the Israelites, who were going out boldly. (v. 8)
And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak; and all who touched it were healed. (v. 56)
Soon afterwards he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. (v. 1)
"The Lord is my strength and my might, and he has become my salvation." (v. 2)
“I have heard the complaining of the Israelites; say to them, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall have your fill of bread; then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’” (v. 12)
"It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (vs 26-28)
The Lord said to Moses, “Go on ahead of the people, and take some of the elders of Israel with you; take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will be standing there in front of you on the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it, so that the people may drink.” (vs 5-6)
