An alternative tune, "New St Giles",  has been written for this hymn by Clive Grey. Clive desribes his tune as "quite lively, and less sombre than the traditional Orlando Gibbons tune that tends be sung with this hymn. It’s 3-4 time long metre, so it would work with many other hymns."
