The Methodist Church in Great Britain celebrates 50 years of women’s ordination as presbyters

The Methodist Church in Britain is proud to mark the 50th anniversary of the ordination of women as ministers (presbyters). Although women were permitted to become deacons in the Methodist Church from 1890, they were not ordained as presbyters until 2 July 1974 at the Methodist Conference in Bristol.

How vegetable oil heated a Cornish village

On 19 April 2024, a committee from the Energy Department came to visit Kehelland to assess the impact of HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) on the rural village and its Methodist Church. There is no mains gas in the village, so many inhabitants choose to use kerosene-powered boilers for heating.
