Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of anger will fail.Those who are generous are blessed, for they share their bread with the poor. (vs 8-9)

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, 'Follow me.' And he got up and followed him. (v. 9)

gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise rebuke to a listening ear. (vs 11-12)

Do you see persons wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for fools than for them. The lazy person says, 'There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!' (vs 12-13)

Like a maniac who shoots deadly firebrands and arrows, so is one who deceives a neighbour and says, 'I am only joking!' (v. 18)

'Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.' (v. 10)

He picked up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. He took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the water. He said, 'Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah? Where is he?' He struck the water again, and the water was parted to the one side and to the other, and Elisha crossed over. (vs 13-14)

Elisha said to her, 'What shall I do for you?' (v. 2a)

He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death — even death on a cross. Therefore God exalted him even more highly and gave him the name that is above every other name. (vs 8-9)

A man came from Baal-shalishah bringing food from the first fruits to the man of God: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, 'Give it to the people and let them eat.' (v. 42)

But Naaman became angry and went away, saying, 'I thought that for me he would surely come out and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God and would wave his hand over the spot and cure the leprosy!' (v. 11)

So he prepared for them a great feast; after they ate and drank, he sent them on their way, and they went to their master. And the Arameans no longer came raiding into the land of Israel. (v. 23)
