Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of their great age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. (vs 4-5)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ…just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. (vs 3-4)
Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days men from nations of every language shall take hold of a Jew, grasping his garment and saying, ‘Let’s go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’ (v. 23)
'There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves.' (v. 25)
When Jesus turned and saw them following, he said to them, ‘What are you looking for?’ They said to him, ‘Rabbi’ (which translated means Teacher), ‘where are you staying?’ (v. 38)
But the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel; they said, ‘No! but we are determined to have a king over us, so that we also may be like other nations.’ (vs 19-20)
Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, 'I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and I rescued you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all the kingdoms that were oppressing you.' ( v. 18)
