A voice cries out: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." (v. 3)

Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. (vs 1-2)

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness – on them light has shined. (v. 2)

While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. (vs 6-7)

When they heard these things, they became enraged and ground their teeth at Stephen. (v. 54)

After this he said to him, "Follow me." (v. 19b)

"Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him." (v. 13)

And being found in human form, he humbled himself. (vs 7-8)

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, "The one who is righteous will live by faith." (v. 17)
