Then he said, 'Let me go, for the day is breaking.' But Jacob said, 'I will not let you go, unless you bless me.' So he said to him, 'What is your name?' And he said, 'Jacob.' Then the man said, 'You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel.' (vs 26-28)

When some Midianite traders passed by, they drew Joseph up, lifting him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for 20 pieces of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt. (v. 28)

'Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.' (v. 10)

Now the Lord said to Abram, 'Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.' (v. 1)

'This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.' (v. 10)

And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. (v. 13)

'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.' (vs 37-38)

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus... (v. 19)
