We hope you find our 'Word in Time' Bible studies support you in recognising God in Scripture, and the world around you.
Each week’s studies are written by volunteers across the Connexion (you can read the author’s biography after each study). They follow the lectionary of the Methodist Prayer Handbook. You may additionally be interested in our Prayer of the Day, also from the Methodist Prayer Handbook.

This week's theme: Vision and Promise
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth. (v. 1)
Then I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the human race. (vs 30-31)
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (v. 19)
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” (v. 11)
When we cry, “Abba! Father!” it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ –if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him. (vs 15-17)
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I; send me!” (v. 8)
When he saw Jesus, he fell down before him.. (v. 28)
Then they prayed and said, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart." (v. 24)
Fear came over all their neighbours, and all these things were talked about throughout the entire hill country of Judea. (v. 65)
All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” (v. 12)
"Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (v. 21)
"But God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power." (v. 24)
