“A voice cries out: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD.’” (v. 3)

Joseph made ready his chariot and went up to meet his father Israel in Goshen. He presented himself to him, fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. (v. 29)

"Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favour of the Lord." (v. 22)

Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. (v. 11)

'Go and learn what this means, '"I desire mercy, not sacrifice." For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners' ... Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, 'Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.' And instantly the woman was made well. (vs 13, 22)

A voice cries out:
 ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord,
 make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’ (v. 3)

“The LORD is a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel” (v.16)
