From 4 - 5pm on the Saturday of 3Generate most of the venues will closed for 'Group Time' - a chance for leaders to reconnect with their children and young people. You will be given a small pack to use during this time, including a short guide with suggestions for how to use this hour together. For a preview of this guide, click here. The pack will also include a '3Generate - our response' poster for your group to fill in together and then display in your local church. You can download extra copies of that poster here.

Getting the best out of 3Generate

3Generate is a unique event that is focussed on encouraging children and young people to speak courageously and feel they are heard. With the proper preparation we believe that your group will be better placed to engage with, and benefit from, all that 3Generate has to offer.

Click here to download Getting the most out of 3Gen*, a session plan that has been specially designed to help you and your group:

  • explore the importance of having your voice heard
  • develop an understanding of 3Generate
  • get to grips with the processes of electing the Youth President and Reps.

The session will take around two hours in total but can be split up and worked through over a number of meetings.

*The link above opens the session plan as a PDF document. If you would find it helpful to download a Word version for editing, click here.

Deciding who to vote for

This year there are two candidates, Rachel and Tom, standing for election to be Youth President in 2023/24. You can watch videos from the two candidates on the 3GenerateTV YouTube channel and also below. There is also information about them in the 3Generate programme.

What is 3Generate all about?

You may find it useful to prepare your group by using the session plans from the 365 Toolbox:

The ever-popular 3Gen's Got Talent (3GGT) is back for 2022 - bigger and better than ever! We are heading to The Park Stage for a whole two hours to showcase our talented children and young people! If there is someone in your group who would like to be a part of the show then please do encourage them to register interest in advance through this online form.  (Please note that participation is not guaranteed through this form. In order to confirm participation young people will need to visit the 3GGT desk in the Town Square before 3pm on the Saturday of the 3Generate weekend.

Hosts needed! Do you know the next Ant or Dec? Perhaps the next Miquita Oliver?

So that 3Gen’s Got Talent can truly be a great showcase for the brilliant children and young people of the Methodist Church, we’d love to find a handful of people aged 8 to 23 to act as hosts for some or all of the show. If you know a budding entertainer or presenter who would be interested in this opportunity, then please ask a parent/guardian to email Lynne Norman to express an interest. We will ask the potential presenter to submit a very short audition video and they will need to attend the 3Gen’s Got Talent practice session at 3pm on the Saturday of 3Generate.
