Which safeguarding Training am I required to attend?

The safeguarding training offered by the Methodist Church includes the Foundation and Advanced Modules.  Please see the documents below for details of who needs to attend the Foundation and Advanced module training.

Refreshing your training

The training interval for refreshers is 4 years. Using this pattern, the Methodist Church ensures that everyone in key roles receives this good quality training.

Methodist, Church of England and United Reformed Church (URC) reciprocal recognition of safeguarding training

The Methodist Church recognises the Church of England and United Reformed Church (URC) safeguarding training as equivalent to the Foundation and Advanced Modules. Therefore, those who have undertaken the Church of England or URC courses at the appropriate level will have satisfied attendance requirements listed above for the Methodist Church.

Foundation Module

The new Foundation Module 2024 materials can be accessed below. There is a section for participants and a password protected section for approved Trainers which includes materials for both face-to-face and Zoom delivery.

The Foundation Module 2024 is also available as online-only materials via MCBX. Information about this resource can be found in the Trainers' section.

Advanced Module

The Advanced Module 2023 can be accessed below. There is a section for participants and a password protected section for approved Trainers, which includes materials for both face-to-face and Zoom delivery.
