December 2025. There has been a fundamental re-write of the Methodist Church’s Safeguarding Risk Assessment Policy and Procedures which takes account of the changes to safeguarding in the Methodist Church, the learning from successive safeguarding risk assessments completed by the Church and changes to the wider societal context of safeguarding in British Society. This Policy introduces the concept of Core Groups in the Risk Assessment process within the Church.
