Stand Number- 26

Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes

What does TMCP do?

TMCP is a corporate body, incorporated by the Methodist Church Act 1939 and is the Custodian Trustee of almost all Methodist property, land and model trust money.

TMCP’s mission is to support and strengthen the Methodist Church, both by enabling and equipping Managing Trustees, providing practical support as required and by working closely and effectively with colleagues in the Methodist Connexional Team. One of our primary aims is to guide and assist local churches so that they can engage more fully, and safely, in resourcing mission and ministry.

There are a number of different aspects to our work at TMCP, but a key part is guiding the Managing Trustees through the potential pitfalls of Charity Law, Methodist law and other legislation. We also have oversight of GDPR across the Connexion.

We would welcome and encourage you to visit the stand to speak to the Team about any proposed or ongoing legal transactions, including the new streamlined processes for purchases and leases where a Panel solicitor is instructed. We would also welcome any feedback on what services you would like to receive from TMCP.

You will also have the opportunity to speak with members of the Methodist Panel of Solicitors who will be in attendance.
