Media team
Director of Communications
Jillian Moody
Jillian oversees the work of the Communications team. She supports the work of the Safeguarding, Evangelism and Growth and Learning and Development teams and attends Methodist Council meetings.
Jillian was trained as a radio journalist by the BBC and worked for the Corporation for over 20 years in radio and TV. She left the BBC to work in the Church of England’s communications office as a broadcast specialist and then moved to Oxfam’s media office.
She has a particular interest in training and equipping people and church congregations with skills to tell stories and communicate the work they’re doing with outside audiences.
Senior Media Officer
Michael Ivatt
Mike supports the Global Relationships and the Evangelism and Growth teams within the Connexional team. He is also the producer of The Methodist Podcast and the Week Ahead e-newsletter.
Prior to working for the Methodist Church, he was head of media at the military charity SSAFA supporting the families of injured service personnel and those killed in service. He was also the media lead for Kent Police specialising in families and media liaison.
He began his career in radio, working on programmes including Something Understood, Pause for Thought and The Chart Show.
Internal Communications Officer
Rachael Obasa
Rachael leads on communications and colleague engagement for the Connexional Team. Her role involves shaping how information is shared and how colleagues stay connected, informed, and involved in the Team. With over five years of experience in communications, Rachael has specialised in internal engagement and change management across a range of sectors including government, not-for-profit, and financial consulting.
She takes a special interest in strategic communication and enjoys finding creative and effective ways to reach audiences making the most of available channels.
Digital team
Director of Digital Engagement
Ben Hollebon
Ben oversees the work of the Digital team and provides strategic vision for the wider Connexional Team. He works alongside Publishing Services, Evangelism and Growth, and Learning and Development teams to prioritise a consistent digital-first policy that serves the wider Church.
Prior to working for the Methodist Church, Ben spent more than six and a half years working in digital communications for the Church of England and has previously worked in marketing for Spring Harvest and their parent organisation, Essential Christian.
He is particularly interested in how technology and platforms can be leveraged to serve the need of churches and organisations on the ground, in order to prioritise the local need.
Digital Content Manager
Dave Webster
Dave oversees digital platforms and content for the Connexional Team, including the Methodist Church website and others.
Dave started working in website development in the 1990s and also has experience in feature writing and film and video production.
Digital Content Producer
Ben Lawrence
Ben overseas our film and video content working alongside teams from across The Connexion to communicate the vision and values of their work through great storytelling.
Prior to working for The Methodist Church, Ben spent over ten years in local ministry settings in Norwich, including working for Youth for Christ and the Church of England. Outside of work, Ben is an avid creative, having produced award-winning short films and a solo album.
Digital Communications Officer
Fiona Fidgin
Fiona works collaboratively across the Connexional Team, delivering high quality digital communications training and learning opportunities to support our digital strategy and to resource the local church. She oversees the development of the Methodist Church’s online learning platform MCBX.
Fiona has a background in primary education, youth and community work, retreat work and prior to working for the Methodist Church, led the Congregational Learning Team of the Church of Scotland. She has a passion for digital theology, exploring new ways of being church and developing online mission and ministry.
Social Media Coordinator
Katie Lamb
Katie looks after our social media channels on a day-to-day basis, as well as planning our larger social media campaigns throughout the year. She produces graphics for online use and advises on the best strategies for meeting particular audiences on different platforms.
Katie spent her gap year immersing herself in helping build online communities for children and young people with type 1 diabetes, and is bringing these skills to her build online communities for the Methodist Church.
