Action for Children Paying the Price of Child Poverty
Monday 30 June
Lunchtime
Beckbury Suite, Telford International Centre
As a frontline children’s charity, Action for Children supports over 600,000 children, young people and families each year through 372 services in communities across the UK.
Through our services, we see children paying the price of poverty every single day – through a lack of access to basics like food, clothing and warmth, poorer physical and mental health and missed opportunities to thrive.
With the government set to publish a new Child Poverty Strategy in June, we want to bring attention to the urgent need for the strategy to meet the scale of the challenge facing families.
Our new ‘Paying the Price’ campaign and report, sets out a roadmap for how the government can deliver transformational change on child poverty in the short, medium and long-term.
The research, in partnership with Nationwide Building Society, presents new analysis and modelling of potential pathways to reaching ambitious child poverty reduction targets through a broad range of policy options, including reforms to social security, social housing, a living wage and employment support.
Join us to hear more about our campaign and how you can help ensure that no child has to pay the price for child poverty.
Catering - Feel free to bring your lunch into the room.
