Getting there by rail: The Abbey is situated approximately one mile from the Shrewsbury railway station. Pedestrians approaching the Abbey through the town centre are advised of a steep hill at Castle Foregate and again at Wyle Cop. Shrewsbury bus station is a few minutes walk from the railway station. There are bus stops travelling in both directions directly outside the main doors to the Abbey; routes 8, 8A, 19, 19A, 23, 436, 540, X4, X5.
Getting there by car: There is a limited street parking, the Abbey is located directly opposite the Abbey Foregate car park; postcode SY2 6AH. Charges apply from Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm. Blue badge holders are not exempt from charges though concessions are available. Coaches are also welcome subject to a separate fee tariff.
Accessibility: The Abbey South Door on Abbey Foregate has level access suitable for wheelchairs. Their main West Doors can be accessed by wheelchairs and scooters using portable ramps kept inside. And they have an accessible toilet.
