Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes (TMCP) – Stand 23
TMCP is a corporate body and the custodian trustee of virtually all Methodist property in England, Wales, and Scotland as well as model trust money and other trusts.
One of our primary aims is to guide and assist local churches so that they can engage more fully, and safely, in resourcing mission and ministry
What does TMCP do?
Works with Managing Trustees and their professional advisers in their dealings with property and money.
Provides support and guides Managing Trustees through the potential pitfalls of Charity Law, Methodist law and other legislation.
Provides practical support by offering guidance and templates to help churches, circuits and districts navigate complex processes.
Helps ensure that assets are used for Methodist purposes in line with the Model Trusts and Standing Orders.
Works closely and effectively with colleagues in the Methodist Connexional Team.
Acts as Data Controller for general data protection matters and provides assistance to Managing Trustees in order that they can comply with their statutory duties under the legislation.
We would welcome and encourage you to visit the stand to speak to the Team about any proposed or ongoing legal matters or financial transactions. We would also welcome any feedback on the service you receive from TMCP and how we can work with you to enable your mission locally.
You will also have the opportunity to speak with members of the Methodist Church’s Panel of Solicitors who will be in attendance.
