The MDO as an Order of Ministry
Diaconal ministry belongs to the whole church and is the calling of every Christian disciple who seeks to follow Christ. Therefore the ministry offered by deacons is not exclusive to deacons; rather their work overlaps with that of others as part of the bigger picture of God’s activity and presence in the world. Deacons main charge is to model, integrate and encourage others in the servant ministry of Christ.
