Specialist Skills Missions (approx. one week to a month)
Current Opportunities:
Leadership Trainer for the Methodist Church in Togo
Do you have experience of leadership training for Ministers and/or Lay Persons? Have you ever served or worked in another country? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We have an exciting and inspiring voluntary opportunity for one month and possibly more to work alongside the Methodist Church in Togo. Basic duties involve leadership training for Lay and Ordained Ministers and Institutional stakeholders both in the field and in the classroom, including training in Church, Financial, Project and Team management. You will also benefit from closely engaging with a new contexts and expanding your personal development whilst learning from the Church in Togo.
Please note that French Speaking would be helpful but not essential.
This is a voluntary post but travel and insurance would be paid for, and Togo based arrangements will be negotiated with the local church.

Funding may be possible in some circumstances and a regional/cultural briefing will be provided prior to the visit. All specialist skills mission volunteers will need to have a DBS and should have some previous experience of working overseas.
Encounter Worldwide - Short term volunteer mission placements (3 months to 12 months) - currently placements are on a partner needs basis.
Examples of placements:
- Argentina: working with CREAS, an ecumenical social justice organisation operating across Latin America for 9 months
- India: working with the Church of South India in their creative arts outreach for 3 months
- Tonga: based at the Theological College for 6months
