God loves you, no strings attached.
But sometimes we’re so busy with life, we neglect to open ourselves to the experience of God.
These prayer activities can help you to be open to God’s presence with and within you.
If you would like to talk to someone about prayer, you can connect with your local Methodist church, or message a Christian at Christianity.org.uk.

A prayer of commitment
Some people find it helpful to say a ‘prayer of commitment’ – a sign that they are committing their lives to Jesus.
If you’re in that moment, or you’re not quite there yet but you’re committing to the potential of getting there, consider whether one of the short prayers below feel right for you.
You could write it in a journal, or stick it to your fridge or computer screen, as a reminder of the journey you’re on. Sign your name at the end. Alternatively, simply write or speak out the words that you want to say to Jesus in this moment.
Jesus,
I commit to going on a journey with you.
I’m not sure what will happen next, or where I will end up, but I’m committing to stepping into the unknown.
Thank you for loving me.
Amen.
Dear God,
Help me to grasp the depth and breadth of your love for me. Thank you that you love me as I am and where I am. I want to know you more and respond to that love. Please help me on that journey. Teach me to love others as you have loved me, with compassion, grace and forgiveness.
Amen.
Loving God,
I know that I am in need of forgiveness. I have lived in a way that has damaged my relationship with others, myself, and with you. I don’t understand it fully, but I believe that through Jesus’ death and resurrection I can receive forgiveness and enter into a lifelong relationship with you. Help me to feel assured in you love and forgiveness and to live my life in response to it.
Amen.
