Encounter Worldwide is a 3–12-month global volunteering programme for people connected to the Methodist Church in Britain. Volunteers live and serve alongside a global partner church, sharing in its mission, ministry, culture and community.
Encounter Worldwide is open to all ages but there is a Bursary Scheme available for persons aged 18–25. Contact gr.admin@methodistchurch.org.uk for more information.
Who is it for?
Encounter Worldwide is open to anyone aged over 18 who is connected to the Methodist Church in Britain and feels called to serve internationally for up to a year. Volunteers should be open‑minded, willing to learn and ready to share their experience when they return.
Why join Encounter Worldwide?

- Deepen faith – immerse yourself in local church life, community and mission.

An Update from CEPALC and the Ongoing Work with Phoebe Parkin.
The experience was exhilarating and challenging. The climate and whole way of life was so different. Living alongside student ministers who were so enthusiastic about their faith has given me a new zeal for my Christian belief… the Encounter Worldwide experience has changed my life.
