Religion or Belief

The Methodist Church is a Christian Church and includes people with a broad range of Theology. In terms of our approach to relationships, including human sexuality, the 2021 Conference adopted the report God in Love Unites Us.

In accepting this report we agreed to respect different theological views about marriage. It is also true that we have different theological views on many things.  The Strategy for Justice, Dignity and Solidarity says that we need to respect each other across these differences. If you are unsure about whether your views match those of the Methodist Church please contact your minister in the first instance.

Membership preparation is a way of helping you understand what it means to be a Methodist.

Methodist Way of Life groups may be available in your area. Again, please ask your minister or a local church steward about this first.
