Voices of Identity Project – for those in similar and particular experiences of ministry

Voices of Identity

Our current gathering is a gathering space for Ministers who are in appointments outside traditional circuit ministry.

Voices of Identity is a project led by the MVW team, on behalf of the Connexional church, to engage in deep listening and intentional conversation with its minsters. The project entails taking care to gather together ministers who are encountering similar ministry experiences either because of a shared identity or parallel circumstances, listen to their perspectives and consider the implications for the team and the church more widely.

To date some 6 groups have met together.

  • Ministers formed in ministry beyond the British Connexion and now serving here
  • Ministers who have had to deal with catastrophe
  • Ministers who are single
  • Minister young in age
  • Ministers who happen to have a disability
  • Ministers serving outside a traditional circuit setting

Another 15 groups have been identified to date with more arising through different routes and any new groups will always be advertised here, through the Signpost for Ministry pages and through direct routes where possible.

The church is committed to the flourishing and wellbeing of Ministers and if you have an idea of a group to consider or would like to know more then please get in touch with Jane Bingham binghamj@methodistchurch.org.uk or 07799900487.
