We are passionate about seeing a wide variety of New Places for New People across the Connexion that are contextually relevant to your area.

Why Focused Streams?

Since 2019, patterns of New Places for New People have arisen ‘independently’ of each other. We are taking seriously these emerging patterns as Focused Streams that enable the Methodist Church to steward its resources in ways that honour what the Holy Spirit is doing afresh.

What are the Focused Streams?

There are six context-based streams where proven models show promise for growth and replication.

  1. Church at the Margins –  Church at the Margins - The Methodist Church
  2. Working with People in Recovery/ Addiction – Recovery Church - The Methodist Church
  3. Rural –  Rural Mission & Ministry - The Methodist Church
  4. Children/Families/Schools
  5. Student/Young Adult
  6. New Towns/New Housing

How will we be resourcing the Streams?

The New Churches Officers hold oversight and responsibility for the streams within their portfolio of work.
