We are passionate about seeing a wide variety of New Places for New People across the Connexion that meet a need and serve the communities in contexually relevant ways.

Why focused streams?

Since 2019, patterns of New Places for New People have arisen ‘independently’ of each other. We are taking seriously these emerging patterns as focused streams that enable the Methodist Church to steward its resources in ways that honour what the Holy Spirit is doing afresh.

What are the focused streams?

There are seven context-based streams where proven models show promise for growth and replication.

  1. Church at the Margins
  2. Working with People in Recovery/ Addiction
  3. Rural Mission and Ministry
  4. Families with Children
  5. Student/Young Adult
  6. New Towns/New Housing
  7. Digital Evangelism

Click on the focused stream headings to discover the resources and support for each one. If you cannot find what you need, please do get in touch with the relevant officer or contact us:

How will we be resourcing the streams?

The New Churches Officers hold oversight and responsibility for the streams within their portfolio of work. Each stream has bespoke resources to support their development, including specialised safeguarding sessions.
