A nine-day missional pilgrimage by rail from London to Rome for Young Adults of the Methodist Church in Britain, aged 18–25.
Why join the journey?
To connect with a worldwide Methodist neighbour! Encounter the mission and ministry of the Methodist Church in Italy (OPCEMI), travelling with Italian young adults.
As you pilgrimage in Italy, you will:
Explore and deepen your faith as you
- share in cross-cultural prayer, devotion and worship.
- examine themes of multiculturalism and migration in relation to faith and social justice.
Discover more about OPCEMI as you
- visit key Methodist Churches and learn about their mission and ministry.
- hear first hand what it is like to be a minority denomination in a Catholic country.
Join with community outreach projects as you
- take part in the Methodist breakfast mission in Milan, serving migrant and homeless communities.
- contribute to the children and youth ministries at Centro Ecumene, the Methodist retreat centre – a place of reconciliation and inclusion.
- ...plus so much more!
Share your experiences with your home church, circuit and beyond when you return, by
- writing an article for your church or circuit newsletter.
- speaking at a church or circuit event.
- talking about your experience with the young adults’ network of the Methodist Church in Britain.
- creating a blog piece, video or podcast to be shared with the wider Connexion.
Where will you go?
Your journey will begin at London St Pancras Station on the evening of Friday 10 July. From there you will head to Paris on the Eurostar before taking high-speed trains through France to Milan, and then on to Rome.
This is no ordinary journey. This is a missional pilgrimage: a joint faith venture with Italian young people to participate in the mission of OPCEMI. It’s a journey where you’ll be challenged to explore personal and collective faith, together. Challenged to face issues of injustice, together. Challenged to learn, share and serve, together.
So, are you ready to step on the train?
Cost
