Safeguarding Training Update - April 2023
Advanced Module Changes
The new Advanced Module 2023 materials are in the process of being added. There is only one new section, where materials for both face-to-face and online delivery can be found. Existing Advanced Module Trainers will be able to access the new webpage after they have attended a Trainers’ Update session.
The Advanced Module 2019 Face to face and Online (Safeguarding Trainers) sections will remain in their current positions for 2 months. These materials will continue to be available after that time, via the Advanced Module 2023 (Safeguarding Trainers) section, where they will be accessible without the need for further passwords.
Foundation Module changes
The sections for Foundation Module 2020 Face to face (Safeguarding Trainers) and Foundation Module 2020 Online (Safeguarding Trainers) have been removed. It is still possible to access these resources, via the Foundation Module 2020 (Modified 2022) Safeguarding Trainers Section; access to these materials does not require a further password.
The PowerPoint presentation for the Modified Edition has been updated slightly. Slide 24 has been amended, with new illustrations to take account of the new design on the front of the Policy & Procedures document and the Quick Reference Guide.

Refreshing your training
Since September 2017, the training interval for refreshers is 4 years as per Conference decision in 2016. Using this pattern, the Methodist Church ensures that everyone in key roles receives this good quality training.
