Camp, explore and connect with Methodist young people from across Switzerland for ten days in the great outdoors at STR26 – discovering together how fun, friendship and faith come alive in a vibrant youth community.
Event dates: Saturday 25 July - Sunday 9 August
The Methodist Church in Britain has been offered two invitations to join the 2026 National Meeting of the Swiss UMC Scouts.
Funding is available to cover your costs if required.
Please note that you must be a young adult connected to MCB to be eligible for our funding.
Why join the National Meeting as an international guest?
- 10 days of camping and living in the great outdoors
- Join together with 40 youth groups and 1000 people. This includes children between 7 and 15 years old and leaders between 16 and 30 years old
- A programme of games and sports, tent building, hikes, but also devotions and times of worship together. And there are individual training opportunities for leaders
- Sunday worship with the other international participants
- An opportunity for cultural enrichment and mutual learning with regard to youth work
- Preparatory and follow-up meeting to familiarise yourself with a Swiss scouting camp
Who can apply?
- Youth leader aged between 20 and 30 years old
- Good knowledge of English or German
- Willingness to sleep in a tent for 10 days, spend a lot of time outdoors and hike for 3-4 hours
- Openness towards other people and cultures and willingness to socialise
- Clears safer recruitment checks (DBS check and completes safeguarding training)

- Send an email to Vicky in the Global Relationships team at MCB roylev@methodistchurch.org.uk. The email needs to confirm your eligibility for the event and answer three questions:
- Why would you like to attend the gathering?
- What skills and experiences will you bring to the group?
- What do you hope that you will gain from participating in the National Gathering?
- Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and a decision will be made by Wednesday 8th April so if you are interested do not hesitate and get in touch with us as soon as you can.
