Venue Teams

Chapel

A space for constant prayer and worship. This space will help children and young people explore the wide range of ways people can pray and experience God. Volunteers should be confident discussing various methods of prayer and worship in line with Methodist teachings and encouraging children to explore these.

Creation Station

A place to encounter God, and respond, through visual arts and creativity. This venue has a wide range of arts and crafts workshops running at all times, and is usually one of the most consistently busy venues at 3Generate. Volunteers don’t need to be the most artistic, but should be comfortable guiding and assisting children during workshops when necessary.

Discovery Centre

A place to explore the big questions about life, God, spirituality and faith. It also offers opportunity to think about your gifts, skills and future and what you might be called to do in your church, community and the world. Volunteers should be confident discussing the multiple streams of vocational opportunities available to young people in the Methodist Church.

Globe

This venue explores global issues, cultures and perspectives, encouraging children and young people to consider their role and responsibilities in the world. Volunteers should be ready to engage in deeper discussions and have an awareness of the Methodist Church’s global presence.

Great Outdoors

This space should primarily be a place where children and young people can seek and encounter God through moments of awe and wonder, as well as celebrating God’s creation. Volunteers should be passionate about the environment and encoutering God through nature.

Health & Wellbeing

A space to discover more about our physical, mental and emotional health and what the Bible has to say about those things. Volunteers should be comfortable engaging in discussions about mental and physical health, and how these things relate to faith.

Leisure Centre

A space to participate in a range of physical activities, fitness, sports and games, and connect these to God and faith. Volunteers should be passionate about sports or other physical activities, and be able to discuss with young people how these link to faith.

Park

A calmer venue amidst the 3Generate town, with space to relax and play games. Volunteers should be comfortable engaging with children and young people in this venue, helping them navigate and enjoy the event on the whole.

Refresh

This venue will be spread around the site, and volunteers will help run a stall with free fruit and drinks for children. Volunteers will not need to engage with children and young people in a prolonged or discursive setting, but should be happy to provide a friendly face and some light chat.

Sound Studio

A venue to explore music and sound, and how these can be intertwined with faith. Volunteers should either be confident musically, or happy to help facilitate sessions and encourage participants.

Sensory Space

A venue for those with additional needs or who need a quiet, relaxing space in the 3Gen town. Volunteers should be confident and experienced in working with children and young people with additional needs .

Geek Hub

A venue to explore all things geekery and how we can connect with god through technology and digital media. Volunteers should be immersed in some kind of ‘geekery’ or tech and happy to explore this with participants.

The Foundry

A space focused on hearing the voices of children and young people on the margins, and exploring topics directly related to lived experience (poverty, effects of crime, and any other causes of marginalisation). Volunteers should be comfortable having deeper discussions with children and young people while being supportive and encouraging.

The Lounge

A space for those in Y11/S4+ to relax and discuss topics that relate to them, with workshops and sessions specifically catered to this group. Volunteers should be comfortable working with this age group and helping them to engage in the wider event.

Prayer Portal

A space to discuss prayer in its many forms, and how children and young people can connect with different aspects of faith across the event as a whole. Volunteers should be confident in discussing faith and directing children and young people around the 3Gen town.

The Well

A space for group leaders to relax and recharge, as well as participate in workshops and sessions that contribute to their upskilling and discipleship. This venue also serves snacks and hot drinks. Volunteers should be comfortable making and serving drinks, as well as being a friendly face for our much-valued group leaders.

Theatre

A venue where children and young people can encounter God through drama, spoken word, dance, music and drama. Volunteers should be familiar and engaged with drama and performance, be enthusiastic and willing to lead by example when necessary.

Town Hall

A space focusing on debate, discussion and taking action. Children and young people are invited to think about bigger issues they care deeply about, or explore new issues as part of a justice-seeking church. Volunteers should be confident discussing current affairs and topical issues, and happy to help children and young people explore these further.

Village Green

A space for children and young people to relax when they’re not engaging in the programme. Volunteers should be comfortable engaging with children and young people and encouraging them to take part in the wider event.

Care Teams

Night Stewards

The Night Stewards patrol the site at night, ensuring all children and young people are safe and reporting any incidents that take place in the night. They sleep on site during the day time, so the perfect role for any night owls!
