Heroes (in Training)
Explored through the world of superheroes in an imagined superhero training camp, Heroes (in Training) delves into what justice is and what it means to be justice-seeking.
Designed for children in school years one to six, this resource will help them recognise that we can all be heroes with God’s help and that God calls us and equips us to be agents of change.
Follow the story of the two disciples James and John, known as the ‘Sons of Thunder’, as we we reflect on the key Bible verse:
He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the LORD require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
As well as making a great tool for outreach during the school holidays, this resource can also be adapted for different contexts:
The Bible stories or the short talks/object lessons could form part of an all-age talk or an assembly
The activities in the Action stations could be prayer stations or part of a Messy Church activity.
The conversation starters from the ‘Power up’ Action stations work really well as questions for older youth, or even in an all-age café church setting.
