Deacons
Love This Calling - Deacons
Deacons are called, by God to a ministry of witness and service, proclamation and prayer, and through this to enable the church to join in with work of God in the world.
The Methodist Diaconal Order is a religious order with a shared rule of life to which all are Deacons are called.
“The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the broken-hearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour,” Isaiah 61:1-2
What comes to mind when you reflect on God’s heart for the community?
What does it mean to you to share the good news?
