Pioneers and Church Planters

Love This Calling - pioneering and church planting

Lay and ordained people are pioneers and planters. Your call may include:

Imagining new places for new people who are not currently part of a community of faith.

Enabling individuals, on a journey with others, to make new disciples of Jesus and form flourishing Christian communities.

“I am about to do a new thing;    now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?”  Isaiah 43:19 (NRSV)

  • What new things  are springing up around you that God is calling you  to nurture?
  • What could be something new God  is calling you to start?

Maura talks about her calling to connect people together and how she’s doing that as a pioneer in Oldham.

  • Reflect on a time when you formed a vision for something that was yet to be started and encouraged others to be a part of it.

There are some excellent questions in a  discernment journal for budding pioneers and planters (download here).
