Taking action on homelessness

The 2019 3Generate Manifesto asks the Methodist Church to take action on homelessness in local areas. Here are a few websites to get you started...

The Methodist Church is not responsible for any third party content linked to from this document/list.

The Joint Public Issues Team represents the Baptist Union, The Church of Scotland, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, helping these denominations work together for peace and justice. On the housing page of its website you can download 'A place to call home?', a set of six Bible studies for small group discussion on a range of issues around housing. Also available is 'More than bricks and mortar', a background paper with four 'think-pieces' to help Christians consider how they should respond to the current housing crisis.

Crisis exists to help people to leave homelessness behind for good. Its Homelessness knowledge hub provides information about homelessness trends and the causes of homelessness and its impact.

Shelter helps people struggling with bad housing, as well as homelessness. Its website has a wealth of schools resources (you may have to register to use some of them).
