Getting started as a Learning Network team member
Discipleship engagement is integral to the wide range of learning and development opportunities offered by the Learning Network, and there are various way in which A Methodist Way of Life can be embedded in your role to have impact.
Ways of using the toolkit and A Methodist Way of Life resources:
- Help churches with mission planning. Explore how the 12 commitments offer a range of emphases for discussion around church and circuit priorities. Think about how each station could be an entry point for new people and commit to trying one or two for a period.
- Conversations around Local Arrangement can lead to enthusing and enabling local engagement in discipleship. Encourage leaders to read the relevant starter guides and take a look at the series of service outlines.
- Explore discipleship commitments at WLP training opportunities for students, tutors and mentors.
The Evangelism and Growth team of the Methodist Church run events and webinars throughout the year for individuals and church leaders to explore what A Methodist Way of Life means for your community, including ‘Rural and Rooted’, a series for rural churches. Many of our events are in partnership with the Learning Network.
